together myself and Kellen worked on colors and placement of stuff and we have arrived at the final design! next step is to put it on the wall!!! :)

So here is the almost design...

its a thumbnail of what will potentially end up on the wall.

its missing a boarder and Henry and the words
'Coyote Rock Gym ltd'

but here is an idea of whats coming!

its going to be at least 10 ft high by maybe 20ft wide i think??

New Drawing Style

So...there is going to be a mural painted in coyote rock gym at some point.

location: right above the top-out boulder on the wall!

The artists assigned to this project of epic magnitudes:
none other than the great Kellen Tapley - graphitti-artist extraordinair and,
(myslef) a semi-animation student and artistic person extraordinair!
normally i dont draw a lot. not because i dont like it. i really don't know exactly why i dont draw more. there are probably many little reasons why. but lately i have been drawing more and i have been enjoying it thoroughly!

The mural gave me a new challenge.
I dont usually draw graphitti stuff, but Kellen is very good at making cool graphitti-style words, so i decided to try and make my drawings look somewhat graphitti-like so that our mural would fit together as a unit and not just two seperate arts not working together.

I discovered a new drawing style that i have been having fun experimenting with lately.
It was developed off of inspiration from coyote rock gym and the new mural plan.

The characters are actual caricatures of the staff there!

The art from the band The Gorillaz was a mojor influence in my new style...

Here is a coyote character i made up.
There are other coyote characters that i created but this one is my favorite!

I took the idea from the gym owner's son, Noah. He suggested we have a coyote spray-painting the wall. I thought that was a FANTASTIC idea!Mural progress .... : ?

It's taken a while.
Mostly because of other life distractions. Jobs, climbing, friends, ect.... we havent taken a lot of time to plan the mural lately. The short time that we have spent on the plan we managed to both get a rough idea in our heads of what we think should go on the wall.

Over the days i have been sketching simple ideas i have had for the mural. I also started trying to caricaturize all my friends from the Gym.

I started with Kellen :)
